These service dogs are trained to help individuals who have certain types of seizures or type I diabetes.
Seizure Response Tasks May Include:
- Finding another person in the house or hitting an alert button to signal for help
- Snuggling next to partner to support recovery from event
- Retrieving or carrying items that may be required for support
Diabetic Alert Tasks May Include:
- Alerting person to low blood sugar levels by nudging or pawing
- Bring or carry resources related to blood sugar levels, such as test kit or sugary snack
- Finding another person in the house or hitting an alert button to signal for help
